The license to bond for the premium lightweight module PVbondi®

On the Chinese Year of the Fire Horse: SunOyster Systems grants production license

The Chinese New Year begins on February 17, 2026. It is marked by the Fire Horse, which, like no other sign of the Chinese zodiac, stands for particularly dynamic development. And dynamic development is exactly what we expect to see in 2026 for the production of our PVbondi® lightweight module.

PVbondi® was developed by SunOyster Systems (SOS) based on its application experience and customer feedback on adhesive modules and is intended to take lightweight PV modules to a new level in the truest sense of the word. SOS has obtained a utility model for the module and has applied for an international patent. With its various advantages over the lightweight modules currently available on the market, it is set to become the premium standard in the new lightweight module market segment. The world premiere of the PVbondi is planned for Intersolar in May 2026. The module is currently undergoing certification.

The module will be manufactured in China by ABO Solar. ABO is the leading module manufacturer in Shanxi Province, west of Beijing, and has a strong market position in other western provinces.

The license and supply agreement, which was signed back in 2025 and is now coming into force, is intended to secure SunOyster Systems a sufficient supply of high-quality modules. At the same time, it allows ABO Solar to sell the lightweight modules on the Chinese market. As is well known, this is the largest PV market in the world. ABO has to pay SOS a running license fee for these module sales. So, ABO and SOS are betting on the same horse in the future - the PVbondi®.
